Eileen's Camp Crafts Original This craze is probably the hottest craft for kids in years. There are 100s of free patterns on the web and probably 50 books in the stores. The craft is suitable for children 8 and up. Younger children (those that know not to put beads in their mouth etc.) can help an adult make an animal. Teens use smaller beads either seed/Indian beads or other small beads to make earrings, necklaces, shoe decorations and more. Or the new mini pony beads to make slightly smaller projects and therefore cut the weight on their school bags. It is a rare craft where boys and girls enjoy it equally. (Lots of cool boys patterns not just sweet girl projects like some crafts.)
(BELIEVE ME I HAVE LOOKED.) SO.... My children and I started our own collection of beadie projects for Jewish kids. They will hopefully work as a project for some experienced beadie classes and as a starting point for others more talented then we are. Let us know what you think. We would love to hear any suggestions for future projects. First suggestion ( besides make more) was for me to remind everyone that many of these symbols can be used for many religions - ten commandments, candles etc. Scroll down for a small picture of all of my designs. But don't forget I do have larger pictures AND directions on other pages. The number of large pictures on the original instructions page was making the down load time too long for many of you. I have now divided the page into multiple pages. I hope this helps!
Beadie Tallit Pattern on
Shalom Boston.com. Other Jewish Bead Projects on my site: Designed as a Girl Scout Swap pin/safety pin project but pattern can be used for suncatcher, beadie etc. Other sites with Jewish Patterns that can be used to design bead and beadie projects.
This site has lists of Jewish: crafts, needlework, sites, patterns, instructions, photos and ideas. I have had it on my needlework page for a long time. Someone reminded me she also has beading information including charts on using the Hebrew Alphabet in bead projects!. It includes: *Shalom, *The Hebrew Alphabet for the bead loom and more Diagrams including many Hebrew Alphabets counted out and some patterns for popular words in Hebrew. Check back often. More designs are coming. Do not forget to hit reload every time you come to a page on my site as I update frequently and most computer networks save old copies of a site to "help" you.
